Is it just me, or does it feel a little bit like there's change a-coming? I'm the perennial optimist even in the blurst of times...and even though things look pretty bloody bleak, I can't help but feel that those whom have felt like they have been pissing in the wind for ages...are finally being given a voice. Which ever way the mop flops next week in the US, there's going to be trouble and that starts with T and that rhymes with B and that stands for Black Lives Matter. The Supreme Court will change, yes but #MeToo isn't going anywhere. In fact, the organisation has just had a reboot to celebrate it's third anniversary. Get in amongst it! When I open up my social media accounts there is even news about countries OTHER THAN THE FUCKING U.S. because of the ability we have for curating our own sources of information, Social media might have our depleted and thirsty egos in the palm of it's hand, but if we remember we still have independence of thought, we can stop being lazy c*nts and search for truth. No one will spoon-feed it to you. Having said that, if you follow me on instagram and FB I'll definitely give you the benefit of my resources.
WE CAN'T JUST SIT BACK AND LET UNCLE RUPERT DO OUR THINKING FOR US! Oh yes, my belly be lit. I'm not only sensing changes in the world without, I am feeling some changes from the world within. Glimpses of joy and a genuine sense of accomplishment is starting to go hand in hand with my sense of purpose. I'm finding my groove, you might say. ![]()
The PODCAST is now 10 episodes deep and each ep is being listened to by the equivalent of an intimate-style theatre audience - from all over the world. So, it's not playing to NO ONE. Which is pretty awesome. My social media following is edging upwards. It's not static like it was a few months back. People are starting to engage with me and I with them. I'm meeting some amazing queer creatives and putting out feelers for collaborations. I was interviewed for Wyoh Lee's "Sex Stories" podcast, not only audio, but if you're clever you can also find the video on YouTube. Yes, I've revealed quite a bit of intimate information on my podcast, but this interview is something else again. When Wyoh is asking you about your sex life, she is like an eager six year old, learning how to make ice cream. She's so infectiously enthusiastic about saving the world via people having 'happy sex lives' that it's hard not to ovary up in order to take one for the team - and REALLY OVERSHARE. SO if you REALLY want the nitty-gritty deets on how my orgasmic experiences have changed over the decades...then have a listen.
And if you have genuinely curious questions, go ahead and ask. I won't bite. I'm here to share what I know. While continually discovering what I still don't know so I can share that too. Squirmy subjects are conspicuously ubiquitous all over social media if you are a curious creature. FRINSTANCE...Episode Ten is out today, which concludes my four part series on sexuality and gender which was called "Ixnay on the Inary-Bay". The series ends on a real high. I'm so happy with just how GOOD it made me and my gorgeous trans (F2M) friend, Quinn Carter feel to just shake off all pretence and be completely open and honest, in talking about anything and everything to do with his transition, his sexuality and the penchant we both have for being goofy dickheads. And I got to share his great music! Having known him since childhood, I cannot tell you just how much it meant to be able to offer him this kind of platform, to be as vocal and honest and proud as he could possibly be. Please have a listen and give me your feedback. Reminder: NOVEMBER IS 12-19 IS TRANS AWARENESS WEEK. As I say in the podcast, all this 'gender' stuff has really got me thinking and finally understanding just how much feminism is tacitly encouraged by the trans community fighting so hard for their recognition. Everyone except straight white men are put in labelled 'minority' cages from birth. We are 'othered'. We are expected to conform. To adapt. To bend and change. To shrink. Fuck that. Sure - men are expected to 'man up' but most men who call themselves feminists, are already doing so. By breaking free of toxic masculine influences and joining the good fight for the benefit of the ones who gave birth to them - as well as the possible daughters that await them in the future. Oh yes, there is change coming. Next up on the podcast, I am turning 'inward'. I have an interview lined up with a very special guest, who will give me a great opportunity to talk about the stuff I've been wanting to get to all along. Consent. Self Worth. Body Image. Sexualisation. Relationships... and of course, the mental health stuff that follows on from that. I wasn't sure where I was going when I started. I just followed the horse in the direction it was going. We have been on a journey and this journey continues in a somewhat winding but still linear path. And while I am not exactly sure how to get there, I know where it leads. It leads us back to where we all started. It leads us to who we all are. Underneath. It leads us to each other. It. Is. The. Stuff. Of. Life. And inspite of the injustices of the world. I can't help but feel optimistic. I can sniff it on the wind. CHANGE IS COMING! Love and Kisses...Rose PS...Please check the links page for surveys AND also there's a merch link. CHRISTMAS IS COMING and you might want to see if there's anything the Queer or Feminist in your life might want to wear. Or carry. Profits will help me pay for the expenses of putting this project together. PPS. Please 'like', rate, share and review the pod on whatever platform you use. Help me help you guys. Cos I like doing this but I can't continue to do it all from out of my own pocket indefinitely. DON'T FORGET...
